On the Mountain Trail

Come read about a fascinating subject–me!

Romance author Liz Arnold has been kind enough to feature me today at her blog, Liz Arnold – Stories You Will Love! Come by and comment. If there’s something you’ve been dying to ask me, perhaps this will embolden me to answer.  Thanks, Liz!

An interesting examination by Reading Review

We have the comments from the male point of view today over at Reading Review, where Conan Tigard has posted an excerpt, a summary tease and a review. He’s looking forward to the next volume in the series, he says, and I can assure him some of the questions to which he still wants answers will be found there.  Thanks so much for your insightful review, and for adding this book to your Fantasy pages. Next year, when The Elf Child comes out, he has promised to create a page for our whole Clan Elves of the Bitterroot series. Stop by his site and see all the reviews soon!

And the IMC beat goes on…

The first of my sister writers from Margie Lawson’s excellent Immersion Master Class has joined our Other Writers, Other Worlds page– welcome, Sherry Isaac! Please stop by and read what she has to say about writing discipline.

Another great review: Erie Times-News

When Meadville attorney, Barbara “Babs” Mountjoy, closes the door on her busy law practice, and has her even more active family safely tucked into bed, she dons the robes of Lyndi Alexander, her pen name, and escapes to the world of fantasy that lives within the deep recesses of her computer.
Even though Mountjoy has been a published writer for over 30 years, “The Elf Queen” (Dragonfly Publishing, $21.48, $9.99 paperback) is her first novel. Fans of fantasy fiction will wonder why she waited so long. This is a crackerjack of a story…

An Erie personal appearance

We had fun this week at The Erie Book Store–thanks, Kathleen!

She had wonderful refreshments, coffee and fresh fall cider, a huge place to set up my display, and we even had the television news stop by. I was interviewed, and it ran on both the 6 and 11 p.m. news! Certainly glad it was a slow news day. A review should run in the local paper in the next few weeks, too. Go, Erie!

Congratulations to new fan Pam, who won our door prize of a pretty china cup from Boulder, Colorado, with an assortment of hot beverage choices.

Book 2 & 3 have covers!

For information on the storylines and other updates, see the Dragonfly Publishing homepage here. How exciting is this?

(P.S. The ‘read about’ is from the DFP page–if you want to read about them, you’ll have to go there. Best I can do. Damn it, Jim, I’m a writer, not a computer artist.  :)  )

A grand event

Wow!  What a great event today at Tattered Corners in Meadville! Thank you Jennifer and Tracy for a fabulous event, and all the wonderful readers who stopped  by to pick up their copies of The Elf Queen.

Congratulations to Mary-Lib Whitney, who won the door prize, one of Elaina’s hemp bracelets with the Elf Queen  details, a little glass slipper and the magic vessel.

Next week in Erie!

More praise for The Elf Queen!

Rita’s Reviewers posted a fine review today–Thanks so much, Rita! Hope to have the new books answer all your questions!

A Books Blog

The Elf Queen at A Books Blog yesterday…we’re spreading the word!

Five stars again…

Another five-star Amazon review, today.

I’m so very blessed. And nearly done with the second draft of The Elf Child. Everything is progressing as it should.

Happy reading!

Another great review!

Reviewer Rebecca Emrich shares her thoughts on The Elf Queen at her blog, Living a Life of Writing. Thanks for your review, Rebecca!

The Henley endorsement

A rousing fine review at Amazon from writer Hank Henley; see his informal recommendation at News from Constantinople!

Brazen hussy that I am…

I took a stack of my promotional Postcards (which are beautiful, btw–thanks DEENA!!) advertising not only the book, but the October booksigning, to an all-day Continuing Education seminar and scattered them casually on the snack table. Most of them were gone by day’s end. Guess that’s how it’s done!

Happy reading!

Books Two and Three on the way!

I received the contracts in the mail today for The Elf Child, due out next summer, and The Elf Mage, set for 2012, barring the end of the world as we know it.  Can’t WAIT to see Lane as a technomage…  all is well in Bitterroot territory.  Stay tuned!

Happy reading!
